Wānaka Homeschoolers exists to support and connect home-educating families in Wānaka and the wider area.
This space helps families share ideas, organise activities, and build community together.
All school-aged children and younger siblings are welcome at the Wānaka Recreation Centre for sports and activities every Thursday morning during term time.
All ages: 10am-11am
12+ year olds: 11am-12pm
Cost: $3 per child (age 6+) | $6 max per family - paid to the coordinator weekly or per term
Hi everyone! I'm Luciana, and I love working with arts and crafts.
This term (see dates in the graphic) l'm excited to offer an extra creative activity for homeschooling children - or a fun option after sports.
To cover the cost of materials there is a small charge - see flyer for details
I'll be at the craft table in the rec centre from 10 am to 12 pm. Please come and join in with your children!
After sports at the Rec Centre we have a few options for extra activities
11:30am-12:30pm (Mon, Wed, Thur)
$10 per person
Bring 'grip socks'
Please note sometimes these sessions may not be available to homeschoolers. Join the HS Trampoline Messenger group to get updates.
From 12:30pm bring your lunch along to the Dinosaur Playground on the Wānaka lakefront on fine days for a play and a social catch-up.
Sometimes we go to Bremner Bay instead. Come along to the Rec centre first and ask where people are going.
Homeschooler discounted rate available on request.
Our Outdoor Group meets every Thursday afternoon after the Rec Centre gathering for adventure-based activities. We aim for a small group size (about 2–3 teens per parent) to keep things safe and engaging. Once a month, we’ll plan a full-day or overnight trip.
